WHAT IS COMPUTER ?

The term computer is derived from the Latin word "compute" which means to calculate or to manipulate.

Computer is an electronic data processing devise and programmable machine, it takes raw data (pictures, sound and graphics) as input from the user and processes these data under the control set of instructions (program) and gives the result (output) and saves data for the future use. It represents the decimal numbers through a string of binary digits.  It can process both numerical and non-numerical (arithmetic and logical) calculations. The basic computer components are: Accepts data -Input, Processes data – Processing (Central Processor Unit), Produces data – Output, Stores results – Storage.
